De Langhe vormt samen met de Monferrato en de Roero het hart van Piemonte. Het is het belangrijkste herkomstgebied van de culinaire traditie van Piemonte, de wereldberoemde piemontese keuken. Belangrijke rol speelt daarin de beroemde piemontese witte truffel (Tuber magnatum), die vrijwel alleen in de Langhe gevonden wordt en zeer gewild is vanwege zijn verfijnde smaak. De belangrijkste stad van de Langhe is Alba en dat is dan ook het centrum van de truffelhandel.
